About Durrell Law Group, P.C.

Alaska’s Premier Business Law and Estate Planning Firm

Since opening our doors in 1997, we have built a reputation as one of Alaska’s premier business law and estate planning firms, earning long-term business and positive referrals from our clients and colleagues.

We are also AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell®, signifying that our firm has reached the highest tier of professional excellence and is recognized for the highest levels of skill and integrity.

Our History

Brian Durrell founded our firm, originally called Brian W. Durrell, P.C., in Anchorage on August 1, 1997. He began serving clients with one paralegal and a part-time secretary. Ann Bruner joined the firm in March 1999.

Brian and Ann spent the early years of their careers in the Anchorage office of a large, Seattle-based, regional law firm, where they trained under nationally recognized lawyers and honed their technical skills. Opening our firm allowed them to put their legal skills and training to use for the benefit of Alaska families and businessowners.

In 2001, the firm name became Durrell Law Group, P.C., a change that recognized the importance of the firm’s entire team of professionals. Over the next several years, we added attorneys and expanded our office footprint to better meet our clients’ needs. In September, 2011, the firm welcomed Heidi H. Borson as an associate attorney. She joined Brian and Ann as an owner in the firm in 2017.

Growing with Our Clients and Community

Since 1997, our firm has grown alongside our clients and our community. We have helped start many new businesses, and watched them grow and develop into important participants in Alaska’s economy.

We have assisted our clients transition their businesses to new owners or to family members. We have guided our business clients through challenges and successes, and helped our individual clients plan for their families and their future.

We are honored by the trust our clients place in us, and we work hard to remain valuable resources for them personally and professionally.

Personal Attention and Long-Term Relationships

Births, marriages, business successes and failures, retirements, aging, deaths, and all of the joys and struggles in between create the need for estate, financial and business planning. Knowing our clients, their families and their businesses is foundational in guiding them through the planning process and the implementation of their plans.

Each new client is paired with one of our attorneys, whose knowledge and expertise best aligns with the client’s specific needs. This provides each client with a single point of contact when they have a question or issue.

This also allows our attorneys to become familiar with each client and the client’s family or business, developing long-term relationships that enhance our ability to serve our clients.

We truly care about and respect our clients, and work diligently to help them succeed in their business and careers, and to enjoy their lives and families.
