Q&A with Lea

What do you hope to do for your clients?

My goal is to communicate clearly with clients so they understand the complex legal issues they are facing, and to deliver an excellent work product.

What do you love most about Alaska?

I love the sense of community in Alaska. I love the accessibility of the wilderness here.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love to travel and have traveled extensively throughout the world. I have lived for brief stints in Denmark, Mexico and Guatemala.

What is your favorite “Alaskan” activity?

Mountain and snow biking are my current passions, as well as hiking, camping and skiing. In the springtime, my favorite activity is to bike out the frozen Knik river to the Knik Glacier to bike among the towering icebergs on the frozen lake. I am also starting to get into mountain bike and fatbike racing, though my goal is to just beat my own personal best rather than being competitive with other racers.

Is there anything you’d like to share about your family?

My husband and I have an exuberant son in elementary school and a bookworm daughter in middle school. I was raised in California, and enjoy visiting my mother and brother and his family there, as well as my sister and her family in Oregon.

What is one interesting thing you have on your desk?

I have a photo of my daughter gleefully leaping on the beach in California while we were visiting my in-laws there. The photo captures her spirit beautifully.
