Q&A with Ann
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy working with members of our community and learning their stories. I enjoy helping my clients meet their business and personal goals, resolve issues and make plans for the people they care about.
What do you hope to do for your clients?
I hope to make complex legal issues easier for my clients to understand and address. For business clients, I hope to provide foundations that will help them be successful whether they are starting a new business, facing questions and challenges in an existing business, or transitioning out of a long-term career or business. For estate planning clients, I hope to help my clients plan for their loved ones in a manner that meets their goals and allows their heirs to understand and carry out their wishes. For clients who are dealing with the death of a family member or friend, I hope to guide them through the administrative process in a way that helps alleviate concerns during a time that can be stressful and difficult.
What do you love most about Alaska?
I love the mountains and Alaska’s everyday beauty. The mountain view from our office is new and different every day depending on the light, the sky and the season.
I love “small town” Anchorage where my kids were raised and learned to be wise, considerate young adults.
I love the opportunity this state has provided to my family and continues to provide to individuals and families who are willing to embrace Alaska’s unique challenges and environment.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love trail running and I like to travel with my family. I’m an avid golfer and I aspire to be a better quilter.
What is your favorite “Alaskan” activity?
Hiking and trail running in the mountains.
Is there anything you’d like to share about your family?
I have three sons, all of whom are currently living and pursuing their dreams in the lower 48. I have a wonderful husband who supports me and takes care of all the stuff I don’t like to do. I have three brothers, a sister and two loving parents in California, most of whom visit every year and expect fish – which my husband provides.
What is one interesting thing you have on your desk?
A Ruth Bader Ginsburg statue to remind me that even if we don’t always agree, we should all work together to make our communities and our country a better place for everyone.
I also have many pictures of my children and my favorite Alaska things.
